Like all D E Stevenon's books, this is charming and beautifully written, though not only old-fashioned in but it would have been even in when it was written. That said, I enjoyed it immensely, and recommend it highly, though perhaps not to anyone young. This was the first D. E. Stevenson book I read back in I looked for more and managed to get copies of a lot of them back then - but not all. It's great to see them being issued as Kindle books. They give us glimpses into a world much simpler than now. It's refreshing not to have pages and pages of sex in a book.
