The first thing to say about this one is that I was recommended it first by a poet friend called Nigel Cresswell and then later by a writer friend called Ken Boyter, who also happens to be a medium. Iain wrote so many amazing books, but I first read Espedair Street as a uni student, and it's always shone out to me. It's an atmospheric, shot of 80s (70s) life-evoking, mood raiser, and I'll always love it. This audio version is spot on, Peter Kenny really gets Iain's writing and brings it deliciously to life.
